" The Barefoot Method has been by far the most effective therapy for my issues. I walk out of every session feeling more space, more range of motion, less tension and less pain."

The Barefoot Method Workshop
July 31st and August 1st 2010
Come join me for 2 full days of learning and fun. We will spend the bulk of the time giving and receiving the work using the structural patterns and injuries of fellow participants in the class, so you will receive plenty of individualized attention in addition to deepening your skills.
In this 2 day workshop you will learn:
- Why using your feet will save your body, extend your bodywork career and allow you to see more clients in a day
- How to safely and effectively use your feet as the primary bodywork tool
- Simple and powerful barefoot techniques that address the entire body
- How to connect work along functional chains so it is more effective and longer lasting
- How to deal with a range of common injuries and postural patterns
(Note: We will be using floor mats instead of massage tables.)
This workshop will give you the skills to give a deep and satisfying barefoot bodywork session. You will learn how to skillfully use the most effective tool for bodywork, the foot. I have been developing this approach over the last four years in my practice and am consistently amazed at how my work has gotten easier on my body and more effective for my clients at the same time.
The Barefoot Method is a powerful bodywork modality that allows practitioners to deliver deep, structural work to their clients without compromising their own bodies. The Barefoot Method applies strategies from Rolfing® through a more sustainable tool, the foot. Using the feet distributes the pressure through a broader surface area, making deep work less painful and more effective.
Prerequisite:
Some massage training and/or proficiency with basic anatomy. Please inquire if you have questions about your qualifications. This class is great for table massage practitioners and those who already practice a floor-based method like Shiatsu or Thai. You will expand your toolbox regardless of your prior training and experience.
